Here is a tip for the people having trouble with the level sender.
You do not have to replace the whole sender, normally the float hardens and cracks, so replacing this only, is the cheapest option.
The part numbers(for my au1 xr6) are;
Switch low water level EA 10K888 A $61.82 inc gst
Float coolant sensor AU 10F888 A $22.48 inc gst
All I did was remove the two bolts holding the expansion tank, and then lifted and tilted the tank so I did not lose any coolant, remove the whole sender, and replace the float.
I may have been lucky as the seal on the sender was ok. Takes about ten minutes,,,,dead easy. Plus the $40 bucks you save can be spent on more beer, yummy.
