My 99' XH longreach ute has had no engine work done to it.

Would swapping the head off a 93 Tickford XR6 XG's ute enhance my performance on my XH? is there a difference becuase its tickford?

Are they a stronger head and will it change much like compression ratios etc?

Pretty much is it worth swapping? haha

i think the only difference between ur engine and the xr6 the is the different cam specs, and a second hand head wont make much difference unless its ported with a performance cam. best thing u could do is go buy urself a performance cam gear and cam shaft to improve mid range power, and change ur diff to a higher ratio, then it would be pretty much the same or better then a tickford enhanced XR6 XG ute. not sure bout compression ratios. how much is the tickford head gonna cost u?

I bought the head and the LSD diff off the XG Tickford for $100 a great price... I only wanted to install it if it was going to make a difference without having to spend a lot of money (travelling o/s in 2 months $$$)...

Is there anything that could have been done to this head or i could do to this head to get a bit more out of my XH? maybe shave it down for better compression?

Out of curiosity what would the head be worth as in how cheap did i get it for?

where are you living as i am looking for a new head to do some work with!
the only thing you should need to do is shave the head clean up the ports and cut the valves!

im in the sydney area...

if i take my head to a shop will they know by looking at it that it may have already had work done to it?

If it turns out to be more work than it is worth i will sell the head on here...
