I remember reading somewhere that an XR6T clutch kit from a BA is compatible with an earlier model I6 and T5, is this the case, and if so is the 3.9 included or is just the 4.0l models?

Anyone got any idea as to how much the XR6T clutch is and if there are any other changes that need to be made to fit the XR6T clutch...

the bell housing stud pattern hasnt changed, only the size of the actual bellhouding has changed from E to Au series, however the flywheel stayed the same, as well as the bolt pattern of the clutch, so theoretically i dont see a reason why it shouldnt fit.

The simple answer is NO?

But nothing is impossible.

BA Turbo's use a windsor 10.5 " size clutch and require the BA fly wheel to match. The fly wheel will bolt to your crank no worries, however the ba gear box has a fine spline input shaft and your box has a corse spline shaft. Neither shaft can be swapped into either box.

However if you need a kick arse clutch I had some heavy dity XR turbo style ones made when I did the super charged EL, in 10" 4litre and 9.5" 3.9 litre. Neither slip and a brilliant to drive on the street.

Besides, the ba clutch isn't the best.

hey brendan, from memory, doesnt the BA-T use a dual mass flywheel?? have you actually tried bolting one to an e-series crank??

what material did you have the clucthes made out of? i recently got an extreme clutches cushioned ceramic button, with dampened centre, it has 900kg clamp load, feels light as, but is a bit bitey... it grabs like hell though. Mate of mine, got a solid ceramic button, with a rigid centre, 1100kg clamp load, its a bitch to drive, grabs like hell, can be super harsh if abused during gearchanges (extreme no longer make this clutch, probably cos' it was too vicious)
