Hi guys as you know .Ihave been running a tickford air snorkel on the wagon.I have not had it on for about 2 weeks .Last night Ipopped it on ..with my air fuel mixture reader,and gues what?It made my car for the first time to run rich.So...the tickford air snorkel while better than standard makes our cars run too rich!!!Piece of crap!!!

You must reset the ECU when you fit it so it can relearn the air flow. Just swapping it confuses the ecu and you can get all sorts of readings. I have both the XR8 Snorkle and another intake and dont have the rice problem now that my MAP has been replaced. If anything, it runs lean at idle.

Disconnect the battery for a while - say half an hour.

I doubt the snorkel will make it run any richer.

All its doing is drawing in colder air from through the grille not hot air from in the engine bay. Maybe with a bit more restriction but not much that would affect engine power or af ratios I would have thought

The inlet air temp sensor might notice the diff and richen the mixture a bit but this is stretching to find an explanation.

I reckon its two thumbs on the Air fuel meter.

You sure there is a measurable difference between snorkle on and off in a/f ratios!!!

there was a difference..the air snorkel made my mixture more towards richer when it was on at wot and ran significantly leaner without the air snorkel..

take power off.Go into your car and turn ignition key on and press your brake pedal.Turn the headlight switch to the on position.Go back to your engine bay reconnect power and your comoputer is set in 4 minutes flat...

OK I'll try no snorkle and see what I reckon happens. anything to get a leaner af ratio.

Just do a few runs without it on Sunday, I suspect we'll get at least 10 runs without any problem, probably more.

It will be great for doing back to back mods.
