2002 F-250 Powerstroke Oil Leak

I have oil leaking from somewhere on the rear of the upper block, it mostly leaks down the passenger side. I thought it might be an engine rear seal, but happened all of a sudden, never has leaked a drop. Truck has 103,000 miles on it, never any towing, hwy. miles only.
I have been told that it could be an o-ring leaking, but have not been able to locate where this o-ring might be, and how hard it would be to replace.
If there is anyone out there that has experienced this problem and repaired it, sure could use some expert advice.
Thanks
Steve
