G'day Lads
A mate's XC running a 302C has some issues,
He was given a Pro Comp 7000 dizzy and Coil almost new, After fitting it for him I noticed the taco was wack and the idel a little irregular.
So after discovering my multi meter was left on and the bat flat I can't check the voltage to the high energy coil as they need 12 volts as apossed to the points set up.
But Im not sure If the standard XC had 12 volts to the coil with a resistance wire inside the dizzy or 9v to the coil with a resistor in the loom somewhere??
any ideas ?? , I though the primary resistance for breaker points was 1.25-1.35 ohms and solid state was 1.6-1.8 omhs, duno go me stuffed !
Iv only ever used MSD stuff, Could It be the Pro Comp stuff is shit??
Any ideas would be good As Id like it out of my shead ASAP

the falcons had a resistor wire from ignition switch to coil so try to run 12 volt from battery to test then if succesful you may want to run a relay using the excisting coil wire to triger new 12v power from battery

The resistor wire does unplug (bullet type terminal) near the firewall grommet off memory. Then just run a normal wire from connection to coil.
I'd try a different coil, the one I bought was a dudd from new. It threw the spark out the side onto that big chrome cover, (if it's the same one). That's why I use MSD now.
