g'day all i got me a slight prob with a 302 clevleland it got a reasonably small cam, 2200 to 5000 redline 6 but i dont have any or bugga all power till 3000rpm. Changed the timing chain with a rollermaster one as the other one was streched to the max, 600dp with 64, 72 jets, edelbrock performer manifold, all else is stock. i've tried chaninging the points, setting the gap from .015 to .02thou with both standard bosh, and mallory duel point, i am running an accel coil. the engine fairly labours until 3000 wen it starts to drive. help is very much appreciated.
Probably does. Have you tried a vac sec carb? I don't think theres enough gearing or cam to warranty a 600dp. If the carbs a squarebore that's a good thing.
yea its a square bore i got the timing at 32 deg max to be a lil on the safe side, she runs like she got a huge cam down low quite choppy, down the staigts an exitin corners she sits on 5300 quite happy
Yep could try fiddling with cam timming, did it change power wise with new chain etc ?..Higher compression will help lower rpm as well...
big primeries on exhaust doesn't help low rpm either...
