I bought a 351C a while back and am only just going throught the process of identifying it. The block is stamped D2AE-CA, it has 2v heads, and a 4 bbl intake (DOAE 8426-L). I haven't had the pan off to see if it is 2 bolt or 4 bolt main as I'm in a different location than the engine.

So what I'm curious about is whether all 351C's with 2v heads came with 2 bbl intakes or did some come with 4 bbl intakes?

Not sure about the intake number as it seems incomplete but would perhaps suggest it was a Ford Motor sport part (after thought performance parts from Ford). The casting indicates 1970 for the intake, the block 1972. If it has 2V heads it can only be an added part since no stock C came with that configuration. The block will be 2 bolt with a D2 casting, very few C9, D0, and D1 blocks were 4 bolt, and they were not made that way but were machined after the fact for uses like 351 BOSS and some CJ,s with "M" code in 1971 and rare at that as it seemed they were using up old Boss blocks, but remember they were made this way not cast as 4 bolt.

You might want to recheck the part number on the intake, 8426 is not a correct number. it should be 9425. It is entirely possible you have an Aussie 4V intake that was designed for the 2V heads. This was a common configuration in Australian built Ford 302 Cleveland engines but the intake fits the 351C US model

The Aussie 2V 351C came with
2V heads+2barrel intake,
2Vheads+4barrel square bore intake,
2V heads+4barrel spread bore intake

I have sent quite a few Aussie 2V 4 barrel intakes to the US over the years, along with XE & nascar Clevo blocks, 302C rods, 302C cranks and 302C heads.

Hello all,
I'm starting a 351 c rebuild project. the local machine shop magnafluxed the heads and block. 1 head has 2 cracks between the valves. Overall, it's tired.
Cam and lifters shot. He says it's from running unleaded gas,,causing the valves to sink into the head. He wants to put new hardened valve seats in. The destination is a 72 gran torino. We have a 302 for it from a 68 merc montego but the FMX tranny doesn't fit it. So I really need a head for a 351c.
Anyone out there know where I can get ??

Hi, the FMX will bolt up to any 6 bolt bell housing windsor, any clevo 302 or 351 and the early 400C. The only issue you have is extractor clearance or body clearance in some models.
I have plenty of 351C heads, the freight may be expensive though!
