hey guys... at the moment im looking around at doing up a XE fairmont ghia cruisin/street car with a mild 351
what i wanna kno is any of your suggestions as what to use in the rebuild from bottom end up!!! ive been tallkin to my bro, hes a mechanic and were gonna build the engine... hes told me all the hardware i should use, and im goin too... but im just askin for any other suggestions or comments that u reccomend... im looking at around 170-200rwkw. looking to rev it to about 6500-7000... no more
the plan is off the top off my head...
high energy sump
oil restrictor kit
4mab crank
302 rods
all bottom end balanced and machined... etc
2v closed chamber heads
Redline inlet manifold <----- how good of a inlet manifold is this???
yella terra platinum rr
850 (Thermoquad?) carby
lots of other stuff he recommended but i cant remember

any suggestions??? thanx in advance!!!

Cam choice and Heads will determine a lot of your end product too.

Don't forget good ignition and exhaust either.

My own experiences with a redline street torker have been great. and their design suits the bottle also, which is good.

depending whats behind it, this if setup well will be a nice little package :)

Just go the largest hydraulic camshaft not roller hydraulic and you'll get 170-200rwkw easy.

Not sure if he still has it but XBWGN on these forums has a camshaft forsale. In his engine is ran up 212rwkw. If I remember right? The cams only done a couple of thousand k's work. So it's basically a new cam.

A decent twin 2 1/2" twin system will help too. The factory XE electronic ignitions fine. I run an Accel dizzy myself with no boosters like Crane or MSD. Not even a fancy coil. I run a bosch 717 coil.

If it don't sell we'll prob use it during his brothers 351 rebuild.

the redline manifold is a street torker... hes already got in stock

i had my first ride in a vl turbo today while at his work, its doin 186 rwkw, so it puts in, now dont get me wrong, im a ford man through and through but this thing it was awesome makes me wanna turbo my xr6... but if i turbo the xr the xe wont happen... hmmm what to do??? thanx for the input guys

a tough clevo wont need a turbo to make 186kw, and will shite loads better!

yeh i kno... im gonna do the xe... cant beat the sound of a 351 pegged!!! and the performance potential too!!!
