I have a '73 Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland. I need to replace the engine and am having trouble finding another suitable Cleveland. Can someone tell me what is involved in swapping in a 351 Windsor? I had heard it was a pretty simple swap. ANY help appreciated!

I am lucky enough to have two 73 Mach 1's. One is stock. The one I am thinking about swapping in a 351W was in a flood with water almost up to the intake. (I lived in New Orleans and flooding is not uncommon.) I have had the car since 1975 and it already had a .030 overbore. I really needs a complete restoration. The 351W is more common due to its longer production run and there are more performance parts available. That is the ONLY reason I am considering the swap.

Checkout Davis's photos, plenty of Cleveland aftermarket performance parts are available, granted 351w are plentyful but I get a cold sweat just at the thought of a Clevo being junked for a W.
Should think a swap would be quite straight forward, but I would be very suprised if anyone on this Forum has ever carried out or would ever contemplate carrying out sacrilege of this nature.
Keep searching for a Clevo, & have your two Mach1's as a matching pair

...yeah, check out my photos...better yet, make me an offer and I'll sell you my Cleveland engine with no chassis yet! Or...you can always sell me one of your Mach1s.

why not do a 428 cobra jet conversion its only money?
if i lived in us of a one 460 please with stroker kit out to 532 coming up these kits on ebay in states are well priced cheap hp & torque
just my 2 cents

yes build a 428 CJ, I just bought a original one and taking it to Australia in 2 weeks, I have seen a few clevelands for sale in South LA area.
