ok, so i have two really stupid questions about a 351 cleveland, i found these pictures to help visualise my questions, as dumb as they are!! can someone tell me what the vavle in the first picture (centre rear) in between the headers.

Also in the second picture what is the valve sticking out directly in fronnt of the thermostat housing?
