AFD4V heads - independently flowed

Hi, i purchased a set of AFD4V heads recently, and was wondering if anyone has had them independently flowed?

I know some cylinder head manufactures inflate flow numbers by simulating a larger bore 4.125 on the flow bench (Not sure if AFD do this?), but most of us run 4.030 bore.

I have got the independent results, and I must say that i'm not happy with the purchase.

I still think the ultimate test is back to back dyno or strip work to test the heads. I have seen ordinary flowing heads outperform hyped up "hi cfm" heads. As some have stated recently, anything can flow high with a "big hole" in them.

i'm not talking just "hi cfm", the results showed that the low and mid lift numbers that AFD claim are horse shyte....

There is just 2 things to consider here

#1 Different Flowbench
#2 Different Flowbench Operator

It's impossible to get the same results by changing just one of these factors
and bottomline im sure once you bolt them on with matched components you
will be more than happy!

Have you called Dave and discussed your problem with him yet? Maybe he
can answer some of your Q's

It's not an isolated case. Another forum user also found the same. It makes chosing a camshaft difficult when the heads flow nothing like they are supposed to.

Yeah I remember that, another bloke had the same problem and ended up playing with the valve seat angles, and the flow came up, still not the claimed figures but very close. From memory the angles were 30 and 33.

generally a 4.125 bore on the bench will flow anywhere from 15 to 30 cfm more than on a 4.030 bore..it depends at what lift the valve is at..how the bowl to chamber transition is..and the angle of the cuts..it depends on quite a few things, but in general it will be between 15 and 30 cfm at 28''...

so many variables,in how say,"300" cfm performs though, there is waaay more to it than that..but i suppose what you are saying,is that they are not flowing, what they are advertised to flow? if that the case, there must be a reason for this..oh,by the way,are you talking about taking a finished head out of the box, complete with his valves and flowing them?
