Belt Drive?

Has anyone used a belt drive rather than chain or gear drive? I saw a belt drive was quite pricey and wondered if it was worth it? Especially on a high end engine. What are the ups and downs of belt drive?

Re: Belt Drive?

The NASCAR guys run belts because they were breaking timing sets with the 17:1 comp ratios they were running @ the time. Not sure if there was any other advantage. I think some 4 cyl like the Pintos & V6s have belts, not sure I like the idea.
