calling all Aussies

I've searched this forum's archives regarding the Clevo's oiling "problems". I'm building one to drive sanely in a pick-up except for an occaisonal 6500 rpm rev when needed for emotional health. I see they don't drain well, OK, then why restrict them even more? Next, why pump more in the valve covers with a big Melling when I'm got drainage problems already, with or without restrictors? Next, I can't get a bigass oil pan in my rig so that's out of the question. I want this motor to live through my abuse, so what would ya'll do?

the problem with oil drainback stems from the heads.In standard form the rocker gear is inundated with oil and the drainback holes are very small so what happens is all of the oil is pumped upstairs and with a standard sump can empty qiucker than it returns.hi volume pumps can empty a standard pan even quicker.Even with a restrictor kit the top end still gets enough oil.what sort of pan do you require to fit into what chassis.We have several different pan manufacturers in oz such as high energy pans.I,m sure they can accomodate if it is nothing out of the ordinary.From memory are,nt you fitting a clevo to a 95 F150 .This would require what we call a bronco pan which is available off the shelf if i have my facts right.i,ll try to find a website and post back.

Restrictor kits "Restrict" the supply to the heads, forcing more to the cam & crank.
My 347 Windsor has restrictors fitted to the cam galleries as well cause i run Needle roller bearings.

Well, I just gotta think it's a drainage problem only. Open up the drainage. Know what I mean?

Yep sure do, get the holes enlarged & radiused, whilst your there get the Valley painted & deburred this helps alot too.

My vehicle is an '85 F-150. Are you saying a Bronco pan is for U.S. Broncos of the same yr.? Broncos are F-150's from the cab forward do a Bronco pan would fit. Can u show me the site? Thanks!

what you need is what we call a bronco pan to fit the particular chassis.one reputable seller of hi energy pans is vpw.com.au.log onto thier site and have a look at the pans.alternatively email them at sales@vpw.com.au and discuss what you need and they should be able to help you.cheers.
