curious as to what people are running in their clevelands.. as well as what head work. If you have taken it to the track I would be interested to know what times and Mph too.(Dynos have too much Operator Input to be reliable but if that's all you got .. post it) This is not a I am Better Than You Thread, it's just for interests sake.

currently I am running a C.O.M.E (Chev Off Road and Marine Engines .. yeah .. but they are close and do make great clevo stuff !) CLS108 mechanical (very close to Crane F238) and 2v bracketmaster heads. I am running a Edelbrock Performer and tri Y (interferance) extractors as I want the power to be fairly low. So far I have bested at 13.7 @ 104 ... I broke an engine mount after that and now 8 months later I havent fixed it (lazy!!)

One day I will get a single plane manifold and 4 into 1 extractors .. but not for a while yet!

Hey XA ,

I am running a crow solid in the coupe.
Its got 4v heads that have been cleaned up with yella terra's huge pushrods double springs etc.
The scary part is I cant remember if I got the stud girdle fitted and I aint pulling the covers off to check!

Cam is a (technical crow stuff......)
Inlet opens 35 BTDC closes 81 ABDC ADV duration 295
Exhuast opens 87 BBDC closes 37 ATDC ADV Duration 305
Valve inlet lift .5636 w rocker ratio of 1.73
exhuast .5847

As you can tell I still have all the paperwork !

No idea what cam my my Fairmont Ghia is running. The guy I bought it off claimed a fair sized cam and it does drive a bit that way. (claimed 270kw with a dyno sheet of 188kw at rear wheels)

you have a lot of duration on the crow cam .. does it have the overlap ??? Would be ratehr lumpy from the sounds.
188Kw at the treads in the FG is not too shabby either !!

S'pose I had better ad something constructive to this thread....

The choice of cams is very important to any non-standard engine build. I have seen a few bad combinations. Cams that are just way too big for the chosen application that were put in for a Lumpy Idle more than actually achieving any amount of horsepower.

The next important thing with Camshafts is to ensure it is dialed up correctly, as a Cam in the wrong position will not make the expected power or run as smoothly as desired, and at a worse case scenario, send the valves into the tops of the pistons with disastrous results.

Simple stuff really, but quite often overlooked.

So is your engine mount fixed yet?
