hello everyone nice forum.
Brenden I finally got the CHI em185 heads and intake in. hopefully i will have it all together in about 3 weeks. car is getting mini tubbed. I will keep you posted of how it runs when its done.
You could always go to the Boss 429 bonnet scoop... *plenty* of room for *big* filters...
Reckon it'd look pretty good on a XD/XE....
As for the XB? Bathurst Cobra cowl scoop.... check the FCT cruise piccys in the NSW/QLD events bit..
A K&N Xtreme flow filter top would go perfect on your setup. Your big blue filter lid would be replaced by a lid with a built in filter. Heaps more air flow and you'd get your scoop working great!

Heh. nope, but I'm definitley going to put a K&N Xtreme lid in my shaker, and open up the shaker opening (the bit under the scoop, where there would have been a flapper on a factory shaker)
I watched a 383 chev with one of the new torque power manifolds. With the prior single plan and state of tune it netted 310-7rwkw. Can't remember exact numbers. With the new torque power manifold it netted 299rwkw in tune untouched. Unfortunately I didn't get to see what it was after the tuning was fiddled with but I will ask.
The torque power company should just call the manifold "torque". The chev dyno'd @ 295rwkw (19rwkw less than the old manfold) but made a better torque curve which will make the 1900kg chev go faster than its previous 11.7
I know exactly where theres one in Brizvegas.... $230 @ mustang auto Parts... See it sitting there *every* time I go in. They will ship (i think?). www.mustangautoparts.com.au
Glad to have been of help. If you want any help with procuring one, PM me...
You could also ask Mark @ Hallam Performance as he knows a maker of scoops. XBWGN's possibly getting one for the wagon as a hornet scoop won't cover the hole in his bonnet.

I need it ASAP. It has to be installed and the bonnet re-painted before the end of next month. I was going to get a 'Wide' scoop from VPW but they are out of stock!

ive been having similar problems with mine ive got the TFC manifold and BG carby, without the 2" spacer on the whole filter (K&N 11*3 i think with the extreme top) completely sticks through bonnet, with the spacer on the whole carby can be seen (with the 2" spacer netted an extra 8rwhp) with the hornet scoop ive got on i dont get too much attention from the cops but i cant have the filter on with or without the spacer it still hits on the of the scoop, without the spacer and a newly bought 1 and 3/4 " element it just fits under the bonnet but looks shit and is probably restricting cold air intake.not many other options ???

You probably won't miss the 8rwhp if you took the spacer off........You already have heaps on tap, for street use anyway. You can always put the spacer on for strip runs and just run it without a filter??? The 1 3/4" spacer
would be a major choker. Then you could run a 3"+ filter.
Here's my 9x3" filter. Still small, but just fits under the top of the hornet scoop. K&N make a nice 9x5" filter, but with a 2" spacer it will need some massaging, I've got 5 1/2" clearance on top of the carby (excuse my dirty engine).
Someone yesterday gave me the idea of sticking two 2" filters on top of each other. The chrome filter housing holds them together. Looks butt ugly, but would flow more air.
