just wanted to say something about a mate who owned a
302c ZG fairlane(180,000k). he bought it stock as a rock.

put dual 2 1/4 exhausts on it,a recon. 350 holley then got it dynoed.

put out 177 rear wheel HP on ultimate. and had heaps of torque.

which i thought and still do think is pretty good

any others got similar results from only simple mods?

my 400,000k old stock Clevo put down 172 with Genie headers and twin 2.25's and a 600 vac holley... had a bit more in it too, i'd say - old plugs, dodgy points ignition...

forgot to put down my brothers XA Falcon coupe,

302 clevo, mild port, 4v valves, balanced bottom end, "old-spec" hydraulic crane cam, double spings, standard rockers,

extractors, twin 2 1/2 exhausts, elec ign,
750 vac sec holley on port matched stock dual plane manifold
w/ adapter with dividers to keep it dual plane.

put out 250 sumthin rWhl Hp,+ has seen regular 7500 revs in burnout comps....

also came 4th in burnout comp at narrogin revheads in 2002
PLUS its only got a modded 4-pin 3.55 LSD Borgy and still goin strong for all u borg warner non-beleivers! although another 100+ horses and it may be different story........

Well kinda similar results.

I spent not quite $200 on my Holden Slurry, and it went from 29rwkw to almost 45rwkw!!!!!!

Balltearing stuff I know!.

Seriously though. That sounds reasonable power out of a 302. they don't need much to liven them up.

Now stick a 351 crank & rods in! :)

When I first got my coupe the motor was an original XB 351 2V.

A 204/214 camshaft, another set of valve springs, a factory 4 barrel 2V manifold, thermoquad, plugs and electronic distributor made a big difference. Still not what I would call powerful, but atleast respectable.
