What does everyone think about this. What do you reckon it will cost for one of these blocks.

This what I know about alloy blocks, if you had two identical engines , cam heads etc but one was alloy block and 2nd was nodular iron the alloy block engine would be down app 30-40hp, this is due to the fact that it dosen't matter how much extra bracing they cast into the alloy blocks every thing still move around - main tunnels, cam tunnels, deck surface and even the bore liners this why most pro-stock engines are steel. the main advantage is being able to repair the block if you through a leg out. Dart cast block $3500 Dart alloy block $5500+

A place in WA is aparently doing them for $5000US$. S something performance. That's a lot of $ for a block. Bore size goes to something like 4.150 or something like that.

I got offered a $4500 block last week. Bugger that! Just can't justify more than $2500 for a block. Especially when thats all the chev owner pay. I guess thats what happens when you have buying power in numbers.

The guys from sj were ,last time i know of in the process of casting an alloy 351c with a few mods.From what i remember though,price was considerably more than 5k.more like 8k.Lets be serious here,who the fuc* has that sort of money to burn on just a block? Not me.The new man owar blocks look the goods.Windsor block but you can just whack some canted heads on em anyway.

8K would be the Australian price.

World Man O War is still the best value, 3300$ and if you do 9.5 and max stroke and max bore you get 460cubes, clevo is still limited by its height.

The only drawback to that is that no off the shelf manifolds will fit if you use 2V clevo heads, not until AFD have there manifolds going to production.

Another good benefit is that with W you can run belt drive.

World blocks look f'n tuff.
