Took the car for a run on sunday at a test'n'tune. Changed my slicks from 22/8/15 MT's to 24.5/8/15 MT's. The best id ran previously was a 11.58 at 115mph, that dropped to a 11.34 @ 119mph. AFD 2v heads definately make lots of torque.

Well done, obviously the state of tune is better also with the mph improvement.

What sort of HP is your engine doing @ the fly? Sounds rather mild. I can remember a thread about it but can't remember details. I can rememeber the statements regarding tyres though. Torque is fun

An 2v AFD headed XD that I chatted to is running 10.58. Your Capri will go faster yet if it's not too mild and sorted traction wise.

I hope to help a mate build up his 72 GT Capri if he every stops spending on his other cars? I think it'll be a bullet. I want to see what he can do untubbed etc. I gather yours is untubbed too. I admire that.

[edit] Just searched and found the thread. XBWGN ran up 252rwkw with the cam your running and runs a 3500rpm convertor which seems to work well with it

So whens the new convertor happening? If at all? You'll kill your pb with a larger stall.

Well done clevo capri, I was actually down there and watched a couple of your passes. Had the front wheels up and looked good. You going to the 9/10 tnt?

How wide are the tyres across the sidewall? I need a small tyre like that, as 215/60/15 is the largest tyre that will fit under my car.

STROKEXD. The only change I made was changing jets from 83's to 82's. The engine was right on its limit goin over the line with the little slicks.
brenx, My only concern is with a bigger converter is it'll run a 10. Then i'll need a cage ect. ect...... In a few years it might be on the cards. With a bigger cam, more cubes, injection. Ha Ha Ha. I wish.

Racer. Thanks, the slicks are a bit less than 9 inches across the bags. Im happy with the way it hooks up. The small converter helps, not having 90/10 shocks up front doesnt seem to affect it either. What ever works I spoze.

Just put a throttle stop on it after it to make sure you can run consistantly below the times you need for a cage. Cheeky but it works

We need some pics and video. I like to look of the Capri's, just I can't reach the pedals in them. I am too short! Just!
