Comp Rocker Arms...

Well, I was getting to the point of finishing my 351C engine for my 1960 truck. I busted open a brand new box of Comp Cams Magnum stainless steel rocker arms and started fitting them to the engine. After 15 1.70:1 ratio arms, I found a 1.60:1 ratio arm in the package. They are express mailing another 1.70:1 arm to me, but you can imagine my surprise when I found the one different part.

I'll try to get some photos of the build-up up soon.

Update? It is over 110*F (43.3*C) here...the update is that it is in the trailer and not going anywhere until I head up north for the summer. The problem with that is that there are only 1/8th mile tracks around our ranch. The nearest is about 65mi away from it. The car is setup for the quarter. I don't even have a set of 1/8th mile gears for it, so I'd have to buy a set, install them and mess around with setting things up for the shorter track. Of course, I could just go out and play and enjoy it.

What I'll probably do is haul my new engine up and install it into the '60 truck and get it running down the track. It has a set of 3.70 gears, which should be fun enough for playing on the 1/8th. I'm hoping for some mid to high 12s (quarter times), which is possible, but I'm figuring closer to a 14.35 (about an 8.80 1/8th) due to not having slicks or a very loose converter. Also, it would need a lot more gear to be an 1/8mi racer, but this is going to be a fun street/strip truck and should be a blast without doing the greatest numbers at the track.

I should get the rocker arm today and have it on and the valves set. Maybe tomorrow I can get some photos up if anyone would like to see it.

This is what I call a new box of rocker arms!

It's already 110 degrees there and it's not summer yet !!!!????
"Arizona" when translated must mean "Sun".

I would definitely like to see some photos of the motor, the dragster and the truck.

Did you end up selling that Cleveland you had for sale?

No. It is still in the truck. I'll pull it soon...when I go to put the new engine into it.

You just need to lower that engine about 2 feet and bolt it to the diff pinion!

...I wouldn't want to ruin a perfectly good truck with a piece of ancient technology! My F150 will idle all day long with the A/C blowing cold in Phoenix summers at 115*F on 85 octane regular...two minutes with the Clevo would be the end of that day dream!
