I thought I is time to look into some insurance for myself.

what type of money are you guys paying?

with Shannons, my car is $991.76 or $1116.40 with salvage rights!
I thought that pretty good, insurance for under $25/wk

this is XE Falcon S Pack fairmont, agreed @ $10,000. 21yr old Driver with no history.

hows that match up?

I still have the prove the car is worth 10000+ but they say recent receipts and pics will do. I have over $15,000 in receipts so it should be no problems.

Thats funny cause Shannons usually will insure a older falcon for about $15000 without even seeing it. And at $249 a year is real cheap.

Not in my case. I tried Vigil and shannons. Shannons weren't interested as it wasn't a GT or coupe. Vigil offered max $5000. Pracy has done well to get what he has.

I have my 1979 XD insured with Shannons for $17,000 Started off at $14,000, but every few months I'd slip a few extra receipts in and slowly get them to jack up the insured value.

They wanted me to take it in for an inspection (quick car park lookover) and it was all fine. I just stapled $25,000 worth of photocopied receipts on the application. I have a 65% no claim bonus and pay a $612 premium ($51/month) with salvage rights. I guess if I was 21 with a ZERO% NCB, then I'd be up for about $1360/year.

You'd be lucky to find another company so understanding about car mods. I used to be with Vigil, buy Shannons were cheaper. I don't recall your car having to be a factory GT etc to get insured with Shannons.

I don't know what the problem was with the people I spoke to. I'm rating 1. 1 speeding fine evry 3 years. Like clock work. 1 accident when I was on my P's 12 years ago. I got asked why I hadn't insured the car when I 1st r/w it. My words "I'd just spent all my money getting the car on the road legally."

My car is insured for 10k, and it costs $515 per year with shannons, they have been really good, also insured a second car, an 1988 ea falcon for 3k, because i had the policy with them for the xy.........

Well my car is insured with shannons for $20000 and costs $40 a month.

I'm paying $450 for the Tiger, and $995 for the Lexus.
It basically depends on where you live, and how pinch worthy your car is.

Yer it comes down to car accomodation and that stuff, also a killswitch makes a big difference. I am paying about $800 a year through Vigil for full comprehensive. Thats the XY insured for 15grand. They didn't need photos or anything. I am only 20 as well but having the car in a locked car port and a killswitch made a big difference. I just told them it is a GT Replica and they didn't ask anymore, thank god. Also ive never had any claims or tickets. I'll probably up it to 18grand or something soon. I thought that was cheap. It would probably be more if they asked what mods are done to the car but they didn't so thats their fault. Its just written on the info that its a GT Rep.
