What is a good compression reading for a 351 clevo.

With a stock camshaft -> 145-155psi.

[edit]My book says 100-650kpa but as long as they are even it's okay.

If you start to modify things it changes everything. Modifying things inc just a camshaft change.

No it has big camshaft,tfc manifold,4v heads

Anywhere between 155->215psi is where you'd be at roughly. I've got a static of 11.2:1 and have 185psi cranking with a 248@50 cam.

My mate has 10.5:1 static and 215psi cranking with 238@50 cam.

Iv'e got 130 pounds with 10.7:1 and 246/256 50th duration.(good nos motor. lol)

Sounds like it would be good with an 6/71 blower out the bonnet Dion.............i would do it if i had the means.

Hey, i finally got around to picking up my mates Snap on Tools gauge to recheck. I did a quick test on one cylinder only(#7) and after about 6 compression strokes it read 190psi.
I did the 6 strokes as all the plugs were in, and it wasn't winding as fast as that last test i did with em out. All should be ok.

Your rings probably hadn't seated correctly? I had similar happen to mine. Your not using chromoly rings are you? Took awhile for mine to bed in.

190psi's where you want to be at. I still reckon that dyno's lying but ah well. s**t happens. Your video's shows how the engine is stout. It never sounded like an unhealthy clevo anyway.
