Read def got the bug, mods again..comments pls

hey all,
finished moving and got a bit more time so i am going to play with the clevo a bit more!
current setup;

-302cc heads std valves, hardened exhaust seat and 5degree cut
-1.73 bolts yt's
-crow K2102 valve train. (single w/damp springs, anti-pumps etcs)
-351 balanced rotating assem
-crank 10/10 and check over real good, nothing more.
-rods closed and honed, straightness checked, nothing more.
-only standard clevo bolts through-out. had two sets to use so they are all in good nick.
-acl hyp with reasonable dish, not sure what cc. 10.0:1
-holley 650 DP
-MSD ready to run dissy and coil
-shitty redline torqer port mis-matched, mentioned before..
-pacemaker 4-1 1 7/8 prim.
-manul 4sp, 2.93 planning 3.5 diff.
-heavy XE falcon, no ac.

What I am looking at is not too much more $$ as i have spent enough so far :p
tomorrow i will order a MSD 6AL from vpw@ $435
-will i need a tach adapter for this unit, or this one has a tach output?autometer gauge.
-Heads are off to wes engines, in lismore, for some work. short turn, slight bowl job and angle job on intake.
- new ferrea 5000 2.070 intake and maybe 1.710 exhuast, and comments on using 4v exhaust here?
- go to double springs and new value train, new collets, seals, pushrods etc. crow K2104 specs.
- new crow cam, i cant re-use lifters i am sure?
either crow 211367, 226 232 DUR, .530" and .548" or
crow 21649, 234 244 DUR, .525" and .525"
or even 21700 242 250 DUR. .570" and .570"

-does going to a larger exhaust valve size mean having to get a new hardened seat put in to the new dia?

lastly new intake, have been waiting to see a clev edelbrock air-gap but still havn't, with either be one of those matched, weiland or if $$ permits TQ Power.

I am looking at not changing from the 650DP so I dont want the cam to be too big..?
all this stuff will be hopefully in the next 3 weeks time permitting, after that electric fuel pump etc.
arfternoon and weekend car btw.
thanks for the comments fellas, sorry its a tad long.
cheers

Not really needed if the XE ignition is electronic.

No you shouldn't. Theres a spade terminal on the box for the tacho.

Thats fine. I ran 2.100 and 1.71's in the cast iron heads I used to own.

The cam with 242/50 sounds like but I think the 226/232 one will be the best used with 3.5's. You could persevere with either of the two larger cams.

Sure does they have to fit in there somehow.

The cams with 234/244 and 242/250 would need a larger carb.

Sounds like she's coming along! Exciting times for you.

Few comments..........

Firstly, I wouln't skimp on the GOOD BOLTS. Yes, I know your wallet is burning, but it could incinerate if you skimp on these vital parts on a performance engine.......as a rod lets go at 6000 rpm. "Insurance".

If it meant waiting 2 weeks for more $$$, I'd go ARP rod bolts and a main stud kit. Old bolts are exactly that. Probably cost you an extra $150-200.

New cam = new lifters.

Manifold, when funds permit........look around for a second hand Weiand xcelerator for about $300-350ish. Just get it bead blasted and it would look better than new.

The 226/232 cam will give heaps of torque. Depending on diff gearing you'd see easy low 13's................3.5's??? But that would be a good street cruiser.

How about 3.8's and the 242/250 cam! That would paint a big smile on your face

If you wanted a bigger cam, the 650 would work as an interim carb, and you could always upgrade/swap for a 750DP later.

Hmmmm...........decisions.

Re: def got the bug, mods again..comments pls

well the motor is built and been running for over 3,000k's so the bolts are all done and i am wishing i had of went ARP ofcourse, at the time i chose between balancing and bolts, as i am never going over 6,000rpm with this motor, i went balancing.
hence why i am getting the 6AL, for the rev limiter!!
well balanced motor surprised me, it revs sooo ducking fast!

as far as the hardened seat goes i thought they could re-fit the seat and open it up?

oh i remembered, the extra cost of ARP bolts was a fair bit as i had already had the rods all balanced, closed honed and etc with stnd bolts in, no one said i had to have arp's already in!
dumb move on my part!

No you have to cut the seat to suit. In addition to the two larger cams. I think they'd also need more than a 3.5 gear.

Fair enough about the limiter. It comes in handy.
