When I was cleaning some dipstick I noticed that the oil levels varied.

Measured from the end of the dipstick. (all the same length)

Best of fitting dipstock into the filler tube and measure from where the tube seats in the block to the oil marks on the stick. At least this would give a common length including the fillertube.

Filler tubes were identical.
