1967Fastback

i recently bought a Holley "blue" 110gph @ 14 psi electric fuel pump and it came with a standard regulator that can lower it to 88gph @ 9 psi. My carb is a Holley 750 CFM double pumper #4779-S.

I am wondering if this is too powerful of a pump for this engine (which is dynod at 500), or if the lowest setting on the regulator will work just fine. if not, what should i do?

a friend of mine said i could get a bypass regulator and run a return line back to the tank, only problem is my 67's tank doesn’t have a return feed. That leads to my next question on rather to add a return to the existing tank or get a fuel cell.

any tips would be greatly appreciated. i'm trying to do this all myself and not have to pay someone a ridiculous amount to do it for me. thanks a lot.

The pump is not too big, if anything, just big enough for 500hp. And just set the fuel pressure where you want it, which will be around the 5-6 psi mark, just get a gauge plumbed in to see the pressure.
I use the Mallory 140 on my 408 which has 500-600HP? and also use the dead head setup with no return line to my carby. I run 6 psi and all good.
