Well after 1 & 1/2 days of stuffing around the headers are finally in the coupe and the old exhaust has been removed. I guess its all been said before but the drivers side is a bitch to bolt up.
Luckily I had a multi position high torque starter motor so that job was easy. However no matter what I did the headers hit on the top of the bell housing just near where the top bolt for the starter motor is. So out came the trusty anger grinder and I rounded off the edge of the top of the bell housing. There is plenty of meat around that spot so it was an easy job without any real danger of causing trouble.
The fmx pan also rubbed the pipes so a careful tap with the trusty hammer on the rim at the top near the pan bolts, solved that one.
The transmission lines also caused issues and hit on the headers, I had to fit a new custom made braided line with speed flow fittings, all went ok.
In the end got the beast started, forget what I said on my previous post, there is no way in hell you could drive 30kms with just headers....my god its loud.
Can't wait for the new 3" X System and the Stainless straight through mufflers and the 2.5" tail pipes matched to the GT style tips are fitted on Thusday.
