Does anybody have any drawings to build your own high capacity sump to suit a Clevo in an XE falcon, just after some measurements as to how big you can go and designs of crank scaper and windage etc.

Why not just buy a High Energy sump ?

$300 As apposed to a few hours with the mig and nibblers.
6 of one half a dozen of another I guess, but im on a tight budget and that $300 could be well spent on something else.

Unless you have a 2nd hand one you want to sell me cheap :-)

I agree, much thought has gone into the manufacture of these things, if you don't get it right it could cost much $$$.

I have built 3 which are copies of the High Energy design. I have some pretty good drawing/photos/measurements etc.

What are you doing? Circuit racing, drag racing etc?

Big problem is with the clevo is you can't put the pick up directly in the centre of the boxed area.This is due to the need to being able to screw the pick up into the oil pump.

I agree it is definately worth the effort to build rather then buy. Price it out and you will agree.

This will mainly see street use with the occasional strip run and depending how things go, I would like to give it a few club runs on the circuit.

I have the mellings high Volume oil pump and pick up. Im off the opinion that if I can get away with building a sump for a fair price, then you can never have too much oil hanging arround, provided obviously, that it is baffled properly.

Have you made your own cank scraper, windage tray as well?

This sump is basically copying the $800+ high energy design. It is for cicuit racing / hard street use. Incorperates basic crank scraper, windage mesh, 8 litres capacity, diamond section with 4 gate valves to keep oil at pick up around corners/acceleration/deacceleration. Also stops all oil returning or climbing to the rear of the sump.

It takes more than a few hours but at least the money is in your pocket at the end. Just depends on your finacial situation and skills.
