Holley Blue

Where is the best place to mount my holley blue. Has anyone got any pics.

I had previously mounted it on the inner chassis rail, infront of the rear wheel. This spot is below the fuel tank but to close to the passanger muffler. I soon found I got vapour lock problems. I could sheild it or find a new home. Any good suggestions will be muchly appreciated.

P.S. Mallory 72 GPH mechanical pumps are only good to 200rwkw. There's another $180 done the drain. Anybody want to buy it???? Less than 2 weeks old.

Re: Holley Blue

Not sure exactly where you'll mount it - what car is it for?

I do believe that the electric pumps need to be slightly lower that the fuel tank feed line - ie: they need the input line to gravity feed to the pump. Read somewhere they work better set up that way.

I'm just about to fit my Mallory Comp140.

Cheers,

Re: Holley Blue

I just fitted a Holley Blue very successfully but it would help if you said what model Ford you drive...

Ideally they should be below the lowest part of tank but will still work at the 3/4 point. Mine fits great in front of the left rear wheel arch in the small well there, bolted to the inner side of the sill panel on a custom L bracket. All X series Fords have the fuel line running thru that area so it's a good spot to use.

Re: Holley Blue

Holley blues are crude, noisy and ugly - but at least they work - unlike some of the big name stuff.

Im actually using an electric SU pump at the moment, and it is DEAD quiet. No fuel related issues thus far. I highly recommend them.

Re: Holley Blue

Racer what's the GPH of these and how much are they? Everytime someone gets in my car they go "what's that funny noise". The Holley Blue sounds like a cat being raped...

Re: Holley Blue

STROKEXD have you tried mounting the holley onto some rubber mounting, and put some sound deadner on the inside over the wheel arch, that should make it more bearable.

Re: Holley Blue

Wrapping it in something might work, I've done a good job of rubber mounted so it's motor whine that I'm hearing..

Re: Holley Blue

It's on an xc sedan, with a twin system. Where I mounted it originally was ideal with regard to being below the fuel tank. There are not to many other places I can think of. Is it legal to be mounted in the boot???
