Looks like i'm going to have to replace or have the 351 Clevo in my LTD rebuilt.

Just wondering if anyone had had this done recently and what i should expect to pay?

I've seen some rebuilds advertised by ford muscle parts for $2200... seems good for what they do to it... but i'm hardly an authority on the subject...

any thoughts or comments?

FMP are usually on the high end of the food chain .... you will get a reco/rebuild cheaper but unless you know they are doing a proper job it may be false economy

I just bought an XE with a Clevo in it..$200..yes thats two hundred bux, for the whole lot, starts first go got 500 Holley, with port matched manifold 2V heads and the car is straight. My point being that you can pick up great deals looking in the trading post or online at their site. Alot of people are just wanting to get rid of vehicles or parts just coz they are cluttering their space.

Your idea has merit vigilante, but try finding a cheap car with a 351 in it. If the car is cheap (f#@!%ed) and the engine is good, most guys will know your after the drive train and priced accordingly.
