Hello all

Need info on intake plenum and runner design for my turbo engine, I have no idea how to calculate the optimum runner length or plenum size???

Please help me if you can? examples, links, names of experts who might be able to help, anything at all???

I have found some basic info and it says that the runner length has a great effect on where the engine will make max TQ, but less of an effect on HP. Whreas plenum volume effects HP more than TQ??? I am lost?? HELP!!!!

Im not sure it really matters with a turbo, as long as the runners are large enough and unrestricted the charge just gets forced in!

I am thinking that you are right 4Vman, its not gonna matter much if the air is pressurised anyway. But I would think it may help getting the plenum sized right.

Try someone like nizpro, who make custom plenums and manifolds for late model turbo cars. I have a feeling that plenum volume, and cross sectional area has an effect on the pressure equalisation across all the runners in your manifold. There's every chance that I'm wrong though, so don't take my word for it.

EB- I cant use any bolt on stuff cos I have clevo heads, so i would need a BOSS manifold and they are too expensive, thats the main reason for going to a custom manifold i can build it pretty cheaply.
