Re: Just got back from WSID Street Meet!

hehehe. Traction is the key. What were your 60ft times? I've ran 2.0 and 2.1 60ft's on bald 215's. Are you running a minispool or LSD? As a single spinner won't help your 1/4 mile cause either.

[edit]a 13 something wouldn't be out of the question

Re: Just got back from WSID Street Meet!

2.6 is very bad wheel spin, talking to some of the guys that have a good launch, they say you need to try and ride the clutch out of the hole. dont rev and dump..
practice will make it a lot better...good on you for haveing a crack....

A lot of quick passes tonight... huge turnout!

twin turbo V8 cortina - 8sec flat pass
and a torboed buzbox - 8.2sec pass

Brenden, I want your combo!

Re: Just got back from WSID Street Meet!

whoa 2.6! Loose the tyres. Get some softer ones. Not necessarily wide ones either. Wide doesn't mean traction. Just some nice grippy tyres will do it for you.

Practice will sort your launch as XRFPV8 said. No-ones perfect first time out. My 1st time out in 18mths and I shifted 1st to 3rd and only got 1 good pass in. lol

Get out there and go some more and you'll get a feel for it. Tacho will help and so would a dyno as the tuner can tell your where your optimum shift point is.

I plan to get back on the track shortly and try and run some lower times. I'm looking forward to it

Re: Just got back from WSID Street Meet!

I ain't got an extra $10,000-$15,000 to put one on and make it reliable. I've already priced it and thrown the thought out the window. A strokers cheaper and more suited to my budget.

A decent supercharged engine is nothing short of $25,000-$30,000. More if you want big power.
