After selling my XR8 i finally decided to buy what i really want and have something old school, a XA with 351. It runs:
351C
2v heads, 4V stainless valves, bronze inserts.
296 Hi Comp Cam (can any1 tell me what rev range this means?)
Forged flat top pistons
Edlebrock performance manifold
750VS Holley
Carter electric fuel pump
Scorcher twin point dizzy
Larger sump
K+N Filter
Pacemakers
GT Radiator
C10 with Stage 2 shiftkit, 3000rpm stall
9" diff 4:11 LSD.
This was all the info the owner gave me.
I have just had it dyno tuned to make sure it was running ok. (thought it was rich-and was down low)
It made 163.3rwkw - does this sound about right? timing is set at 32 to suit unleaded (thought perhaps this could have been a little higher tho)
Also can any1 tell me about wot 1/4 it would run? (street traction is a large problem -4:11's)
Any suggestions for future modications?, apart form Nitrous- i was thinking roller rockers would be next step?

The engine sounds like a reasonable package, maybe a little low on power for what it is, however i cant find any info on a 296 Hi Comp Cam, can the previous owner give you more details ?
What exhaust/extractors are you using ?
Im guessing the quater mile in high 14s` ? the first thing i would do is find a good dyno tuner, and get it sorted, see what it is capable of, then go from there.

Yeh i got some pics when i first brought it home, ill try and figure out how to load em onto the site tomorrow nite.
It also has a GT dash, Quiksilver shifter, Fat and Skinny Convo Pros, fully retrimmed LTD interior -electric seats, momo race steering wheel, just pastd vehicle inspection as is- minus the convos(the reason for defect). Got it for $6500 with 3 months rego.
I thought it was a good buy. 4 door btw.
It has a fair few little things that need a bit of attention, and a few electrical problems. Im a electrician so that is not a problem but the hard work seems to be done already.
Its got pacemakers on it, exhaust looks about 2 inch twin.
I am a little down with that power figure, i thought with the mods it has, the head may have been worked a bit-obivous it isnt due to that power figure.
The previous owner didnt build the car, only owned it for about a year and didnt really know what he was doing when it came to maintenance so he is useless for info.
Does any1 have any thoughts on 32degrees timing with PULP? Could it be set a little higher?
