legal blown xw

if i run a clevo in an xw with a 6/71 and a really low manifold, modify the sump and engine mounts so the engine sits like 1/4' to 1/2' lower, run mechanical injection with twin holley baseplates and air cleaners directly on top, do you rekon it will fit under a legal scoop?

just wondring coz i'm not too sure how tall an xw bonnet is...

You can run a maxwedge manifold which sits really low. Also theres a guy that makes kits that makes the motor sit 2" lower. In kit you get different sump, pickup, engine mounts. Then you will need a custom set of extractors. But i have seen a 671 on a cleveland all fit under a shaker scoop.

No chance, the XW/Y bonnet is about 2 inches lower for clerance than the XA/B.
You can only just get a TFC with a holley under an XW/Y bonnet with a leagal scoop so a blower with carbs will be no chance under a legal Scoop.

Re: legal blown xw

In Street Machine sometime in the early 80's there was an XW ute with a blown clevo that sat under a shaker. Had the engine mounted low etc. Can't remember for sure what blower it was though, may have been a B&M
