Hi

I am unsure what the max compression ratio should be on a 351c using 95 octane fuel.

I am going to use ported aussie 2v heads @ 64cc
comp cam magnum 282S solid (not sure if this cam is appropriate, though)
236 duration at 0.050
solid lifters
1.73:1 roller rockers
flat top pistons (acl race series)
weiand xcelerator
750 dp carb
competition ceramic headers

I do not know what the compression ration with the above combination will be and if it will be safe with 95 octane fuel. That is the highest octane fuel available here in South Africa. I can use octane boosters or avgas, but that might be a little expensive and inconvenient.

How far are the pistons going to be down the bore. If they are going to run at deck height, it will have about 10.6:1 compression. I think it will be a close call and you may need a bit better fuel?? If you don't allready have heads, another option is some alloy heads as they seem to be better if running higher compression on pump fuel.

My setup is 11.7:1 and i run 98 pump fuel with no hint of pinging.
