Well, seeing as I'm in Melbourne for most of the working week for the next couple of months, would someone "local" be kind enough to recommend a decent engine parts supplier. I've decided that I might as well make use of company expenses and living away from home allowances, and get a few bits and bobs for this bloody 351 under my house in Brisbane.
What I want is what everyone else wants - cheap, good-excellent selection, close to where I am (currently Richmond, working in town though) and... er... that'll do it...
Sorry its not real close, only 25 minutes on the freeway from Richmond though, but the best IMO and where I get all my bits is Speed Pro in Dandenong. The good thing bout em is they are very reasonable in price and keep almost everything in stock. If not they source it and have it to you in no time!

25 minutes on a freeway is a little too much when you haven't got a car... :(
Realistically, there's not going to be much in Richmond, is there. But I'm prepared to jump on a train to find a place that's all of the above. Oh, and not manned by complete feckwits who think the only good thing to do is plant $10,000 on the counter and say "I want to buy lots of shiny things, please", like one of the places local to me in Brisbane...

Nope not much in Richmond at all. Train goes straight from Richmond to Dandy but bit of a walk with an arm full of motor bits!
The shop is part of an old house and when i first went there I didnt know what to think but the blokes are absolutley 'normal' Just take my shopping list with me and we go through all the bits and pieces and he actually suggests some products that are cheaper than the name brands but just as good....... apparently??? Well least they give you alternatives.

Well I'd have to say if your building a clevo (or anything for that matter), don't want to spend the earth, want good, helpful, freindly advice, with parts in stock............ If you go anywhere other the Vic Speed Pro, in Airlie Drive, Dandenong, your MAD!
97945177
Tell Chris, Dave, or Marcus what you are after and they will help you out as much as possible.
Please don't get me wrong, there are other good, cheap reliable suppliers in Melbourne, but I've just found Speed Pro are really the best.
p.s. Tell 'em Jamie sent ya lol
