I have a reoccurance of a misfire under driving conditions.
Today on driving home from work in peak hour traffic my car misfired very badly under load. The same thing happened last week and it went to the auto elec to repair an old/ melted resistance wire to the coil. Obviously they did not find the root cause of the problem.
Is it the coil iteslf breaking down?
If so how do I test it? Or is it something else?

Engine is a warm 351accel coil

eagle 9mm leads

Accel coils aren't known for their reliability. Borrow another one, even a stockie, and try it out..

low rpm breakdown on load usually mean high resistance in the leads. The fix is new leads.

If your accel coil has gone south? A bosch 716 or 717 will do the trick.

a new bosch coil worked wonders. Mind you I have used the same Accel coil for 12 years now! So mine at least has been reliable.(until now)
