More Rocker Cover Questions

No doubt you are sick of rocker cover questions...but this is the last one.

I previously got good advice re removing the internal baffles from the standard rocker covers to get them to clear my adjustable roller rockers.

What do the baffles do and will removing them cause any damage to the engine

cheers

Re: More Rocker Cover Questions

The baffles prevent oil from getting in the breathers. A mate of mine took out the baffles in standard covers. His oil consumption went up and the engine detonated due to it sucking in the oil. He eventually got a taller set which sort of stopped the problem. Still no baffles. He's eventually going to change to tall, baffled ones to stop his oil consumption.

Re: More Rocker Cover Questions

Rather than start another thread, I thought I'd post this in here.... :) Apologies for the thread hijack!!

Does anyone here know of a company/person's making sheet metal rocker covers to suit Clevo style heads? I've done a bit of searching and can't seem to come up with anything.

Got a little idea in mind for my BT's... Don't really want to be ANOTHER car with Ford Racing covers...

Also the pistons, combustion chamber and valves will carbon up.

You need baffles. Tried 2 gaskets yet?

Ive got std rockercovers and crane roller rockers without any clearance problems.
All you do is crimp the baffles together slightly to fit between them, it will clear no problems.
