Re: Power Estimate

I'm not sure about brass collets and retainers?? I doubt it. You would want machined locks and hardened retainers.
You could run restrictors if you didn't use the passenger lifter gallery restrictor, and only use the cam restricitors.
If it is a hydraulic cam, i wouldn't bother as it will be fine standard.
Guess is 300 at the flywheel.

Hyd cams need more oil than solids to stay "pumped up", if you over restrict oil to them they'll tick and create lift issues.
I know of a guy that had heaps of problems because he used the full restrictor kit with a hyd cam.

Re: Power Estimate

yeah i got a full restricor kit on there as well. as far as i can tell no problems so far.
but your point does make sence, never really thought about it though.
does this usually take a little while before the problems "kick in" like when the oil becomes dirty and a little thinker or should you see the troubles straight away

Re: Power Estimate

Why use triples and a restrictor kit with a hyd cam that small of a lift. Put a solid in it say a Crane F246, some rollers, machined locks and hardened retainers and theres a min 350hp. If you put a 3000 stall and changed the diff ratio to 3.5:1 you'd ground it a bit better.
I'd take it it's a 351ci with a C4, the combo would be worth around $4000.
