Hi guys gota mild worked clevo looking at going a full procomp igintion, dizzy setup. heard some people say there good for the money heard some people say there nothign but shi. has anyone had any experience with them?

your thoughs and experience please

absolute crap!!
i had one recently in my rod ,
firstly i had the bottom of the shaft machined down to suit the later model block and the steel was very soft compared to the factory dizzy (machined down a factory one at the same time )

once i fitted it i ran the engine for no longer than 2 minutes before it started to back fire ,
i shut it down and the checked every thing ,
fired it up again and it ran for a few minutes again and then started back firing again
save up your money and buy a decent one ,
ive heard nothing but bad things about pro comp

spend the extra and get an MSD dizzy. They may be say $500 compared to a pro comp at $250 or so but the extra cash buys you a whole lot more distributor

Garbage , save up and buy a real dissy , the metal that they made out of is rubbish . if it lasts more than twelve months you will have no advance curve left , the advance weights wear away . you get what you pay for

An engine builder I know tells me that Procomp stuff is nothing but crap. He advised me not to touch any of it.

what gets me is that the shop that makes this crap is still in buisness , i know that they had there shop burnt down some years ago , i think its going to be a matter of time before someone shoots the bloke

While people buy the garbage , they will still make it , why do people buy Proton's , Seat's , Tata's ect and shop at Target for cloths/electrial ect , CAUSE IT's CHEAP

My engine builder has finally convinced a customer to take back to place of purchase a procomp dizzy.The customer is doing this only after reading about them on this forum.

Here we go again. I have used nothing but there stuff for the last 5-6 years and never had on ounce of trouble. All of the cars i have had them in all made good power ( 450 - 600 hp and never broke down. Now i don't know what it is but that's all i use in any of my customers car's and a lot of them have been on the road for years. I have never had better service form a dizzy.
