Did 351 Clevelands come from the factory with red rocker covers?
Noticed this add.....

Does anyone know if this is correct?

Every factory 351 I've seen has had blue covers. Every factoy 302 I've seen has had red.

I've had both motors 302/351 in stock untouched forum.

My XB has the original 351. It has red rocker covers, and it appears that it always has. The engine had definately never been apart before I purchased it.

351's did have red rocker covers in some models.

Yes, both were early 70's Fairlanes with 2 barrel carbs.

Thanks Rick for clarifying this for me. I have a 8/73 XA Fairmont, factory fitted 351 2v (2 barrel carb), and it has red rocker covers. All numbers match. It's done 38000 miles and the motor has never been out. I get tired of people saying that it is a 302 because of the red covers. Most, if not all pictures we see are of GTs or early model 351s with the blue rocker covers. Thanks again.

the red is more orange than the 302 models.
I haven't seen many but obviously they are out there still

XD and XE had silver/grey rocker covers both 302 and 351 just to finish off the model line up.
