Adjusting the clearance at 26 thou cold how much would it go to when hot.

Probably 29?
cold is usually 22 ish but valve type will play a big part, the only way to set them properly is hot... and its a bitch of a job!

When you get settings with cams they are for hot arent they.

My cam says 26 thou exhaust and inlet,but says nothing about being cold or hot.

Yes the setting are for a hot engine upto running temp engine.

So what would you set them at for cold brendan.

Like Brenden said the figure they gave you will be hot lash but just set them initally cold at 26tho, run the engine untill its warmed up enough and like he said the gap will be smaller then simply reset them again while hot to 29 thou. It wont cause any probs or damage to your engine.

I usually adjust 1-2 thou tighter when cold. If it sounds rattly or uneven I take the covers off and re-check. I run mine reasonably tight.
