Roller rockers

Can anyone please explain why when adjusting roller rockers to zero lash i have compression when turning over motor by hand, if i then tighten the lock nut by half a turn as per instructions i lose compression when turning motor over, is there a simple answer to this or is it a serious problem, as motor has been runnning fine????

Re: Roller rockers

Might just be the lifters taking a long time to bleed the excess oil out of them after the pre load has been applied.
