I finally got my 4 into 1's back from the jet coating place... I thought I'd save myself a couple of hundred dollars by removing the old system and fitting the new headers myself.
Apart from the noise on the street is there any reason not to drive the car to the exhaust place to have the balance of the system fitted ? Will this cause any problems ? Its a 30km trip.
Troubles only if the exaust gas burns something on the underbody. If there is anything in the way of the flow, get someone to make some nice little turn down dumpi extensions to bolt onto the flanges so it points towards the ground. It should sound nice
In an XB there should be plenty of room for the exhaust gases to escape without harming anything. The collectors should go beyond the trans crossmember. After that, there is nothing but floorpan.
To avoid problems with the cops take the number plates of the car a get a work permit for it .I am not sure what the rules are were you are but over here this is what I do when needed .
The new outlets are 3" and the old ones are 2.5" I can't bolt them up without making up an adaptor of some type. Maybe I should pay the $100 for a tilt tray, I'm still $100 infront.
