Well, here is what I discovered. A simple check is to start top dead center number 1 piston and tighten rocker to contact with push rod. Then check how many rotations it takes to set nut on rocker stud. It should be between 1/2 turn and 1 1/2 turns or you have issues. Of course all push rods should be checked for being bent and oil passage flow. Follow fire order and check all valves.
I also discovered the front crank seal is a simple press out press in. I think with the oil pan removed there is no align issues.
I know this is a little low tech for this site, but I know no Ford and any more posts on this basic set up would be nice to hear.
