Trans Swap

I have access to a 302cl/C4 box(only), and i was wondering, as the engine needs a rebuild, if i am able to do a straight box swap with my own fmx/on 351cl with the C4, and if so will the fmx hook up with the 302. sounds like i can but not 100% sure.
Will this be worth doing, or should i just keep the fmx(is the C4 better or not). If anything i will probably get the one im using a rebuild too.

The trans yoke will have to be changed with one to suit the C4, the FMX yoke is shorter and alot rounder and will not fit in the C4. Not sure if the flex plates are the same? T-bar & linkage may also be different?

flex plates are different for early c4's but fmx and pan fill c4's are the same

Tbar linkages are different, tailshaft needs to be shorter with C4, cooler lines different location, C4 gave me 3/10 sec quicker than FMX
