is anyone running a tunnel ram on there clevo and have you had any troubles or power loss or gain over other manifolds

I run a std Weiand 4V ram and found it very driveable and very responsive in the engines rev range, 4000-7500 from cam and heads.

what are your engine specs and how much horse power as ive got the same tunnel ram as yours

I used to run that manifold with 2 600v/s holleys on a 10.6:1 4v c/chamber 351 with a crane F260 solid, auto with a 3000 converter and 4.11's. It was fine on the street with a few revs up, which is most of the time with those gears anyway. It ran 13.0 on street tyres in a XC so it was a bit more show than go. It ended up on a mates 4sp XY ute which suited it a lot better

I had one on the first cortina i built. It was so completely wrong and mis matched but it actually drove ok. It had twin 660 centre shooters, which for those that don't know, is all 8 barrels in at once. It ran mid 12's back in 1980-1981, which was actually quick back then.

Unless you are after the looks, i wouldn't bother with a tunnel ram these days.

I was told as i was concidering tunnel rams twin carbs that unless you go a custom sheetmetal intake its pretty much a waste of time it wont make the power gains youd expect.

funny how everyone says they were ok on the street, considering the rpm range they were designed to work in. Pitty theres no modern day readily available tunnel rams as the Weiand is OLD as racers said.

Thats the beauty of predators that they can be like a 600 vac round town and floor it and be like 930 cfm. they work similar to a su carbie. They were awsome down low. Instant throttle response of any carbie i have ever used. You just need to know how to set them up. And they need plenty of fuel up to them. You can buy a added plate that bolts to the front that holds more fuel. But just not pratical with the cops. lol
