can someone help me out with what is required to convert and old clevo to run on unleaded plus approx cost?
is the stuff you can buy to mix with unleaded for super engines any good? does it work with premium unleaded or plain unleaded. this town im in is finally cancelling super petrol : - (

Now I'm planning on using ULP friendly heads.

I'd use PULP- has the higher octane.

Bronze guides and seats nothing else. Four years ago this cost me $410. It should be cheaper now.

If i wanted a motor to run 200,000 km, i wouln't use the addative, but if it is a fun car/weekend warrior, it would last for years. I used Moreys upper cyl lube for 20,000km over 4 years, and the valve seats were still like new. This was so i could run premium fuel.

Yep, LRP almost all gone now.

Regular unleaded is absolute crap. Most performance cars should be OK an just premium, which is about 96 octane (same as LRP), but if it still pings with the timing where you like it, then the 98 octane fuels should fix it (BP ultimate, Shell Optimax etc).

If you take the heads off and drop them into the head shop its not too expensive. Shop around for prices!!!!!

Why not go for a full port and polish while they're off

im thinking of trying the pulp. should i use the additive too? the engine is due for rebuild and the car runs out of rego in 10 days and we are doing up a new shell

I wouldn't bother adding additive. Run PULP (95ron) not ULP (91-92ron). No sense wasting $ on Optimax/Synergy/BP ultimate (98ron).

will it do any damage to the engine? not that it really matters coz im going to look into the bronze guides and seat you recommened but the engine is very tired
