Usa Octane Rating

I Saw A Fox Program The Other Day And Saw A Us Fuel Pump And It Said "89" Octane "90" Octane "91" Octane Being Low, Standard And Premium.
Are These Ron Or Mon Ratings As Im Starting To Feel Sorry For The "2v Closed Chamber Loving Guys"..

In the US the ratng is measured differently. I think theirs is measured in MON?

Actually, ours is (R+M)/2 It is the average of research and motor octane numbers.

You can buy leaded fuel in some places, but not for use on public highways. For the most part, the only place that you can buy leaded fuel is at a track or at the airport (avgas).

The highest average premium unleaded is 91-92 octane, depending on where you live. In high volume markets, there are "specialty" suppliers who often have unleaded racing fuel in their pumps with posted octanes ranging from 98-105.
