atm i've got a 1985 XF Falcon GL 4.1 (6-cyl) four speed on gas... im thinking of finding a manual V8 (302 or 351) XD or XE and putting XF front and rear on it...

the question is can anyone give me a direct comparison between a manual (gas if possible) V8 and I6...i want it to be quite a bit better than mine becuase mine if fine for normal driving but the fun stuff suffers a bit...

The XD and XE were a more aggressive looking car to start with IMHO. XF is ok but a bit too soft looking for my tastes.

My XF used to have a worked 6 with a manual and now the xf has a 351 and auto transmission and I have to say the auto and 351 is just as much fun to drive if not more and would beat the pants off the six. I imagine a manual behind the 8 would be even better.

In stock form I agree a bit, the XF's are a bit soft, and not really agreesive, but the XG grill makes a big difference and of course a decent set of mags.

You will imediately find that your horsepower will increase by approximately 7,000 kilowatts, possibly even 8,000 if you hold your tongue to the left and your aerial is 1/4 of the way down. :p

Seriously, who knows. the V8 could be clapped out and out of tune. Your comparing apples and oranges.

In most cases you would find more power and more possibilty for more power with the V8, but it all depends on the circumstances.

I agree....an XE would be my pick of the bunch, but heh! I am biased because I own one myself. They have a more agressive look, nice and low with front spoiler, not to mention a little more respect on the road.

But it`s all up to the individuals taste.
