Re: What pushrods are you using?

5/16 0.080 thickness one piece chrome-moly ones should be OK. Crow or Crane for a few brands.

Did you have an over rev etc?

Then there's 3/8.

Re: What pushrods are you using?

Here is the best place I found...

http://www.pushrods.net/

That is Smith Brother's Pushrods. All they do is pushrods. I got some custom ones made up for the 331 Windsor stroker I built and they made them up and shipped them the same day I called! Great service and quality. The price was also the same as a set of mass produced ones. You can get several materials and several different style ends. It's a great place and a great resource. They also make pushrods for motorcycles. Check them out.

crow 3/8th I think they're either .80 or .100thou walled. I upgraded as 5/16th .60thou walled just weren't coping. After the 351 pull down I found a few bent. You couldn't tell on visual inspected but by placing them on a flat surface it was obvious.

Re: What pushrods are you using?

I've got a brand new set of Crow 5/16 80thou thickness chrome-moly 1 piece pushrods here if you'd like em cheap...........$100.

They are standard cleveland length 8.4 inch, part number PR-950. I'm going to buy some correct length ones when I get my new alloy heads later, and I'm guessing these will be slightly out for that setup.

What length are your current ones?

Re: What pushrods are you using?

Yes alot of guys use 5/16 instead of 3/8. The 3/8 ones are too heavy. Clevelands have problems with rocker gear. Best to keep everything light. Also good to use titanium retainers too.
